Overview

This module will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and includes the following elements.

    • How to take a detailed history regarding acute childhood limp, examination including pGALS assessment, and what constitutes a red flag during presentation.

    • Information about when to make an urgent referral or admission, when to make a non-urgent referral, and how to manage in primary care.

Goals

  • The range of potential differential diagnoses, based on the age of the child.
  • To advise on admission or referral.
  • To manage a limping child who does not require admission or referral.
