  • How to manage someone with a boil or carbuncle, and how to eradicate stapylococcal carriage.

Goals

During this module you will learn how to:

• Make a diagnosis of a boil or carbuncle.
• Alleviate the symptoms of boils and carbuncles.
• Limit the duration of infection and minimize the risks of complications of boils and carbuncles.
• Refer people with boils or carbuncles when appropriate.
• Identify staphylococcal carriage and treat when appropriate.
