Goals

During this course you will learn:

  • Ensure appropriate referral of major burns and scalds.
  • Manage symptoms and provide pain relief.
  • Be aware of when to consider or suspect child maltreatment, and manage appropriately.
  • Manage and promote wound healing and prevent complications such as infection and scarring, where possible.
  • Provide tetanus prophylaxis, where appropriate.
