Overview

This module will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and includes the following elements:

    • What is travel-related DVT, what are the risk factors associated with it and how do I assess someone's risk of travel-related DVT.
  • Advice
    • What advice to give a traveller according to their risk classification and advice regarding the use of compression stockings.
  • Management
    •  Advice regarding patients wanting to travel who have recently suffered a DVT or have recently had a joint replacement or fracture.
  • Optional quiz to assess your learning from the course
  • A list of useful links and resources for further reading

Goals

  • Provide appropriate advice on reducing the risk of travel-related DVT.
