This module will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and includes the following elements.

- Management
- How to manage people with epilepsy in primary care and when to refer.
- Optional quiz to assess learning goals from the course
Goals
During this course you will learn:
- The causes, prevalence, risk factors, prognosis, and complications.
- How to refer a person appropriately after a first seizure, for confirmation and classification of the diagnosis.
- How to prescribe drug treatment to stop or reduce seizure frequency and severity, following specialist assessment and advice.
- To monitor and review the person regularly, and how to minimize the effects of seizures on school, work, or daily functioning.
- The appropriate information to provide to people with epilepsy and their family and/or carers, for example how to manage a seizure, entitlement to drive, and pre-conceptual counselling, if appropriate.
