Goals

During this course you will learn to:

  • Make a diagnosis of genital herpes.
  • Make an accurate assessment of a person with suspected genital herpes.
  • Refer all people with suspected genital herpes to a specialist for an accurate diagnosis, treatment, and follow up.
  • Diagnose genital herpes in primary care if referral is not possible or acceptable.
  • Provide self-care advice and treatment for people with genital herpes where appropriate.
  • Provide treatment in primary care for people with recurrent genital herpes.
