  • The key elements of the history, examination, and blood test investigations.

  • Information on how to manage in primary care, when to make a referral, and red flag issues.
• An optional quiz to assess your learning from the course.
• An audit suggestion.
• A list of useful links and resources for further reading.

Goals

During this course you will learn how to:

• Make a working diagnosis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in primary care.
• Assess a person with suspected NAFLD including their risk of advanced liver fibrosis and cardiovascular disease.
• Offer appropriate lifestyle advice and monitoring in primary care.
• Refer people with NAFLD to hepatology specialist, if appropriate, for further investigation and management.
