Presenter Biography
Professor Matthew Makin
Professor Matthew Makin is a Consultant in Palliative Care Medicine since 2001. Matt has worked in North Wales working in Hospital, Hospice and Community Settings before starting practice in Palliative Care Medicine in North Manchester in 2016. Matt completed his specialist training in Palliative Medicine in Liverpool, while studying Clinical Ethics to a Masters level at Keele University and completing his Medical Doctorate in Pharmacology. He is passionate about addressing inequalities in health, quality improvement, and the role of clinical leadership in improving health systems. In addition to his clinical practice, Matt is an Honorary Professor of Health and Behavioural Sciences at Bangor University.
