  • How to assess a person receiving palliative cancer care who is experiencing pain.

  • How to manage pain in a person receiving palliative cancer care including when to seek specialist advice.
• An optional quiz to assess your learning from the course.
• An audit suggestion.
• A list of helpful resources and links.

Goals

During this course you will learn how to:

• Make an assessment of the pain (for example, site, severity, type).
• Treat the pain in primary care.
• Seek advice when appropriate from palliative care or other specialist services.
• Achieve the best quality of life possible for the person and their family.
