Overview
This module will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and includes the following elements.
- Introduction
- How to define atrial fibrillation (AF), overview of anatomy of cardiac conducting system, how to classify atrial fibrillation, and how it appears on an ECG.
- Background information
- What causes AF, including cardiac and non-cardiac causes, prevalence information, prognosis and complications of AF.
- Diagnosis
- Including signs and symptoms suggestive of AF, which investigations to carry out and ECG examples.
- Differential information
- ECG interpretation of differential diagnosis of an irregular pulse.
- Optional quiz to assess your learning from the course
- A list of useful links and resources for further reading
