Presenter Biography

Sarah Philips has been a Senior Diabetes Specialist Dietitian for the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust for the last 20 years. 

She specialises in the management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and diabetes in pregnancy. Sarah is lead educator for Dose Adjustment for Normal Eating (DAFNE) in Leicester, which has a population of over 3,000 people who use sensors and just over 350 people who use insulin pump therapy. She previously held a position on the national DAFNE executive board and was an honorary associate clinical teacher with Leicester University.

This masterclass webinar lasts approximately 60 minutes and covers the following:

  • Background for use of CGM and flash monitoring.
  • Before starting CGM/Flash; preparing the individual - practical considerations.
  • Looking at the data; what the sensor user will see, using the apps and web-based platforms.
  • Impactful questions with examples/quick wins - how to interpret the key data presentations, what to do when you don't know what to do, user behaviours and how they present in the data.
  • Case studies - using examples from clinical practice, applying the quick win questions.
