- How to diagnose HIV infection as early as possible.
- What advice to offer on health promotion, sexual and reproductive health, and mental health issues to people living with HIV.
- How to recognize HIV-related conditions that require urgent referral or admission.
- To be aware of the potential for serious adverse effects and drug interactions associated with antiretroviral therapy (ART).
- How to care for people with end-stage disease.
- How to refer appropriately for post-exposure prophylaxis.
- To be aware of the role of pre-exposure prophylaxis in prevention of HIV.
