Goals

During this course you will understand

  • common work place hazards including: electricity, slips and trips, falls, chemicals and substances, stress, physical and verbal abuse, traffic routes, display screen equipment, workstations and the working environment
  • how any identified risks might be managed through balanced and appropriate preventive and protective measures
  • how you can apply and promote safe working practices specific to your job role
  • your organisation’s role and responsibility to delivering services safely
  • the importance of acting in ways that are consistent with legislation, policies and procedures for maintaining own and others’ health and safety
  • your organisation’s responsibility for consulting with employees on health and safety matters
  • your organisation’s health and safety policy and the arrangements for implementation
